A Gourmet and Aerial Rosé Champagne
The property
The Champagne Moët & Chandon House was founded in 1743 by Claude Moët, a visionary wine merchant, who quickly made it a reference among European courts. A few years later, his grandson, Jean-Rémy Moët, developed the aura of the house internationally.
Jean-Rémy Moët notably created the emblematic cuvée of the house, the Moët Imperial, in honor of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, who visited the estate several times and is said to have invented with his troops the gesture of sabering Moët & Chandon champagne bottles to celebrate a victory.
Owned by the LVMH group since 1987, the house produces, from a rigorous selection of its terroirs, singular cuvées recognized beyond borders for their quality and seductive personality.
The wine
The Grand Vintage champagne from the Moët & Chandon House is only produced in great years. This Champagne wine is the symbol of the spirit that presides over the creation of each Grand Vintage Moët & Chandon. It is the result of a personal interpretation of the composition of the year, being made from a rigorous selection of the wines of the year, allowing to obtain champagnes that stand out for their uniqueness, complexity and aging potential. This Grand Vintage Rosé 2009 from Moët & Chandon offers a unique interpretation of a great vintage in Champagne.
Vinification and aging
This cuvée has been aged for a minimum of 7 years in the cellars of the Moët & Chandon House. The aging time of this 2009 vintage champagne after disgorging is 6 months and its dosage is 5 g/liter.
Blend
Pinot noir (59% including 19% red wine), chardonnay (30%) and pinot meunier (11%).

Tasting
Color
Bright, the color is a deep pink with topaz hues, adorned with brilliant coral reflections. The effervescence is fine and regular.
Nose
The nose combines fruity fragrances (red fruits, wild berries, wild strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant), floral and vegetal (rhubarb, violet, poppy candy) with delicious notes of vanilla and pepper.
Palate
The attack exudes gourmet confectionery notes (marshmallow, hard candy, cotton candy, candied apple). As the tasting progresses, the palate reveals aromas of nutmeg, dried fig and black cherry enhanced by the aerial elegance of the pinot noir and a enveloping texture. Persistent, the finish is marked by subtle spicy notes.
