Description

The class of an exceptional, suave and silky Margaux wine

The property
Bearing the patronymic of Chevalier Antoine de Lascombes since the 17th century, the Château Lascombes is marked by the imprint of the ten generations of owners who have shaped its history. Since 2011, the mutualist group MACSF has been the owner. The wines of Château Lascombes are recognized as being among the greatest of the Margaux appellation.

The vineyard
120 hectares in the Margaux appellation and 10 hectares in the Haut-Médoc appellation make up the vineyard of this Second Grand Cru Classé in 1855.
This vineyard is planted on a mosaic of plots whose soils are composed, depending on their location, of a gravelly mound, clayey gravels and clay-limestone plots. Uniquely compared to other Margaux crus, the grape variety of the Château Lascombes vineyard is mainly composed of merlot, then cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot.

The wine
Born at the dawn of an exceptional vintage in Bordeaux, Château Lascombes 2009 brilliantly illustrates the consistent quality of this Second Grand Cru Classé from Margaux, considered one of the most beautiful references of the prestigious Left Bank appellation.

Blend
48% merlot, 48% cabernet sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot.

Characteristics and tasting advice for Château Lascombes 2009

Tasting

Color
Beautiful purple color with violet reflections.

Nose
The aromatic elegance of the bouquet seduces with its refinement, revealing the delicacy of black fruit aromas, spicy notes evolving on the discretion of roasting notes testifying to the perfect mastery of aging.

Palate
The frankness of the attack on the palate gives way to a dense and suave substance that fills the palate with tasty sensations, revealing the generosity of the fruit. Structured by tannins with a silky grain, the palate undoubtedly displays this tactile touch, so refined, typical of the great Margaux, stretching in the persistence of a long finish. A generous and sunny Château Lascombes, ready to reveal the charm of its suavity and nobility whose structure promises a beautiful evolution over the next few years.
