A Pomerol red wine from Château La Cabanne
The property
Located in the Pomerol appellation, the Château La Cabanne has been owned by the Jean-Pierre Estager family since 1952. This ancient property testifies to deep roots in viticulture as the vine has been cultivated there since the Gallo-Roman era. The name of Château La Cabanne is associated with the time of the huts of the ancient Serfs and Colonists working in the vineyards at the time. Following a fire in 2010, Château La Cabanne underwent a complete renovation. Since 2011, the property is equipped with an efficient working tool that allows it to produce wines that live up to its great terroir.
The vineyard
The vineyard of Château La Cabanne extends over 10 hectares of vines located on the western slope of the Pomerol plateau. The vines are planted on clay soils, including the famous blue clay veins of Pomerol, while the subsoil is composed of clinker with the presence of various metallic oxides. The vineyard benefits from HVE level 3 certification (High Environmental Value Level 3).
Blend
Château La Cabanne 2020 is a blend of merlot (96%) and cabernet franc (4%).
