Description

The texture and richness of a Pomerol red wine

The property

Located in the Pomerol appellation, the Château La Cabanne has been owned by the Jean-Pierre Estager family since 1952. This ancient property testifies to deeply rooted viticulture, as the vine has been cultivated there since Gallo-Roman times. The name of Château La Cabanne is associated with the time of the huts of the ancient Serfs and Colonists working in the vineyards at the time. Following a fire in 2010, Château La Cabanne underwent a complete renovation. Since 2011, the property is equipped with a high-performance work tool that allows it to produce wines worthy of its great terroir.

The vineyard

The vineyard of Château La Cabanne extends over 10 hectares of vines located on the western slope of the Pomerol plateau. The vines are planted on clay soils, including the famous blue clay veins of Pomerol, while the subsoil is made up of clinker with the presence of various metallic oxides. The vineyard benefits from HVE level 3 certification (High Environmental Value Level 3). The grape variety of the Château La Cabanne vineyard is typical of the Pomerol appellation with a majority presence of merlot (94%), complemented by cabernet franc (6%).
