Description
The balance and expression of a Pomerol red wine
The estate
Founded in 2009, Château Fayat is the result of the merger of three estates: Prieurs de la Commanderie, La Commanderie de Mazeyres and Vieux Château Bourgneuf.
The passionate Fayat family conducted a rigorous study of the estate's soils in 2016 to ensure optimal management of its vineyard, giving birth to great Pomerol wines.
The vineyard
This Pomerol estate oversees a 14-hectare terroir, with 10 hectares in production. The vines, averaging 25 years old, are planted on deep Graves soils composed of brown sands, silts, and clay.
Vinification and aging
Following the harvest, the grapes undergo vinification in stainless steel vats. Aging lasts 12 months, with 80% in barrels (50% new, 50% one wine) and 20% in vats, amphorae, and vegetable polymer egg.
Blend
Merlot (92%) and Cabernet Franc (8%).
