The property
The Château du Tertre is a grand cru from Margaux located on the left bank of Bordeaux. Since its purchase at the end of 1997 by Eric Albada Jelgersma, considerable investments have been made to sublime this exceptional and remarkably homogeneous terroir.
The vineyard
Château du Tertre oversees a beautiful 45-hectare vineyard located in the Margaux appellation. The sandy-clay gravels of this exceptional terroir prevent any excessive water stress during hot and dry weather by ensuring a constant availability of water.
Vinification and aging
Harvest from September 23 to October 11. Manual and optical sorting. Wooden, concrete and stainless steel vats. 21-day thermo-regulated maceration at 24°C. Aging for 12 months. French oak barrel. 30% new wood.
Blend
Cabernet sauvignon (54%), merlot (27%), cabernet franc (13%), petit verdot (6%).
