The estate

Located in the north-west of Pomerol, the Château de Sales is a historic property on the right bank of Bordeaux. The château has belonged to the Lambert family for over five centuries.

The vineyard

The Château de Sales 2023 is a Pomerol wine from a 47.60 hectare vineyard, the largest in the appellation.

The vintage

A mild and wet winter precedes a warm and relatively dry spring. The flowering is quick and homogeneous. The warm and humid summer conditions lead to high mildew pressure, controlled by the rigour of the teams. Harvested parcel by parcel at optimal maturity, the grapes are of high quality.

Vinification and ageing

The ageing is carried out in barrels, of which 18% are new and 82% are 1 to 2 years old.

Blend

The Château de Sales 2023 is a blend of Merlot (85%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) and Cabernet Franc (5%).
