Description
The richness and precision of a great Margaux red wine
The property
The Château d’Issan is a Bordeaux vintage renowned since the 12th century. This great Margaux red wine is regaining its nobility today thanks to the association of the Lorenzetti family, also owners in Saint-Estèphe and Pauillac, with the Cruse family.
The vineyard
The 59-hectare vineyard of Château d’Issan extends over three appellations. The majority is cultivated on the gravelly hills and alluvial hills of Margaux.
The vintage
After a relatively mild winter, spring turned out to be cool. The month of June started timidly with a certain freshness that was offset by summer heat from the 24th to the 28th. The generous summer allowed a beautiful ripening of the vines which were revitalized in September by some rains and cool nights, thus delivering perfectly mature berries.
Vinification and aging
Harvest from September 25 to October 11. Parcel vinification. Thermo-regulated stainless steel vats. Gentle extraction. Blend in mid-January.
Blend
Cabernet sauvignon (70%), merlot (30%).
