Description
The Timeless Elegance of a Great Saint-Estephe Red Wine
Located in the heart of the famous Saint-Estephe appellation, on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region, Chateau Capbern has a prestigious heritage, with a history closely linked to that of its big brother, Chateau Calon Ségur.
Expanding over a vineyard of 33 hectares, Chateau Capbern enjoys a superb terroir of sandy and clayey gravel soils, combined with limestone, which ensures excellent drainage, while also promoting optimum ripeness in the fruit by capturing heat during the day and reflecting it at night.
Product of a vintage highlighting the finesse of the Saint-Estephe appellation, the Chateau Capbern 2017 reveals the typical style of Medoc in a wine that blends Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), with Merlot (39%), Cabernet franc (3%) and Petit Verdot (3%).
Following a manual harvest, the wine was made under the watchful eyes of the renowned Eric Boissenot in thermoregulated stainless steel vats. The wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels, 60% of which are new.
