Description
The softness and fruity framework of an Haut-Médoc red wine
The estate
With origins dating back to 1147, Château Cantemerle is one of the oldest estates in the Haut-Médoc. Managed by the Cordier family, Château Cantemerle delights wine-lovers with its style that dances between harmony and elegance, thanks to its subtle aromatic palette and fine tannins.
The vineyard
Château Cantemerle 2014 is an Haut-Médoc wine produced from 92 hectares of vines. The vines are on average 30 years old and are planted on a terroir of gravel and silica from the Quaternary period.
Winemaking and ageing
Harvested by hand and completely destemmed. Fermentation takes place over 6 to 8 days at a temperature maintained between 26 and 28°C. Maceration for 28 to 30 days. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (40% of which are new).
Blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (47%), Merlot (38%), Cabernet Franc (9%) and Petit Verdot (6%).
